Meditation

Meditation is Yoga

At age 17, being a curious teenager, I found a meditation center near the place where I lived. I've spent the larger portion of my life in Meditation, prayer and contemplation ever since, in the midst of living a 'normal' life with all the challenges of modern age, of dysfunctional and unhealthy patterns, of overcoming one battle after the next and digging deeper each time in healing, in unconditional love and light to come out the other side stronger.

From Patanjali's yoga sutras we focus on the 3 'limbs' or aspects of Yoga before Samadhi.

Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses)
Dharana (concentration)
Dhyana (meditation)

Intro to Meditation: 

​

Class description:

An exploration of the basic concepts and techniques for meditation. Mindfulness for beginners. 

​

What to expect:

  • Short intro to meditation and technique we'll be covering in the class.

  • Short full body warm-up to prepare the body for sitting in Meditation.

  • Short final integration (usually in Savasana).

​

45 mins class

Patanjali's limbs of yoga:

​

Class description:

A deeper look into the Ashtanga tradition and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, focusing on the three 'limbs' or steps before reaching the state of total union (samadhi). 

​

What to expect:

  • Short full body warm-up to start the class.

  • Short description of the 'Limb' we'll be covering during class.

  • Short guided meditative exercises to support the practice of the day.

45 mins class

Advanced Meditation:

 

Class description:

A deeper dive into all the different advanced meditation techniques used by some of the old sages and yogis to realize enlightenment. 

​

What to expect:

  • Consecration and short full body warm-up to start the class.

  • Short description of the meditation technique we'll be working on.

  • Guided or silent time to meditate with the technique.
